Hi there!
My name is Virginia. I am 24 years of age, and animals have been my #1 love and passion since before I could walk. Much of my early childhood was spent growing up around farms in the Ottawa Valley, and I was never without a pet of my own. I learned very early on in life what it means to be an efficient and compassionate animal care provider from my family. Since animals don’t have a voice of their own, they need to be listened to, understood, loved, protected, and treated with the utmost respect. By the time I turned 4 and started attending school, I knew working alongside animals was my calling in life, I just wasn’t quite aware of what I truly wanted to specialize in yet. That is, until I entered high school! The high school I attended was a co-op high school. Which means along with regular classes, I had to attend co-op every other day by the time I hit grade 9, up until graduation day. That’s when I began my experiences of helping out in an animal shelter. I attended LAWS (Lanark Animal Welfare Society) as my high school co-op for 4 glorious years. There, I specialized with the felines, in the cat section of the facility. Occasionally assisting with the dogs as well. I loved my time there so much, that I finally decided what it was that I wanted to specialize in: cat care. After my high school graduation, I then went on to attend Durham College’s Animal Care Program in Oshawa Ontario. For my college placement, I was taken on at Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue, where I graduated with honours in the Animal Care Certification Program!
When it comes to my furry friends, I am very gentle, patient, trustworthy, and ambitious. I want to make sure they get the best possible care and attention while their mummy’s and daddy’s are away. I am well versed in feeding and watering, litter changing, brushing, playing and snuggling, as well as administering oral medication or drops. Although most of my experience is working with cats, I am open to some home visits for dogs, and taking them out for walks when needed. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your furbabies behind for a length of time, as I am a furparent myself. I am currently a proud mama of a cat called Sibby, and a dwarf rabbit called Peter. My babies are my whole world, and I always hate leaving them whenever I need to, so I totally get it! Your little ones will be completely safe and well-loved with me, as I treat every animal I look after as if they were my own. For transportation, I only travel by walking/biking/bussing, so preference is given to clients in Nepean and surrounding area. Any questions you have regarding my service, I’d be very happy to answer them. I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for checking out my profile!
