My name is Laura and I've had cats and dogs in my home since I was born. Spending any free time with my pets was always a priority of mine and they all shaped who I am as a person. I moved to Toronto from Calgary in 2015 and as soon as I could, I adopted a cat to keep me company in the big city. I now have three cats that are never not given heaps of attention. The newest addition, Lou, does not have eyes and has proven to be a loveable wild child in our home.

My specialty: home-sitting and visits for cats

Home Visits:

I will delegate 1 hr of time for each home visit. During visits I’ll make sure feeding, cleaning pet dishes, changing water, cleaning litter box(es), puke clean-up, cuddling, and play time all get taken care of. I will also water plants, bring in mail, and do other various small tasks as requested.

House Sitting: (I am not taking new house sitting clients for the time being)

I understand that owners don't want their cats to get lonely while they're away. I think house sitting is a great way to make sure our furry friends get enough love, attention, and care. I always make sure owners' comfort is priority and that private spaces are respected. I take pride in leaving a house in the exact same condition I left it (unless otherwise specified). I will do all the expected responsibilities as I would in a regular house visit (see above). I expect owners to provide some necessities for me to stay including wifi access, bedding, shower access, and towels. I will likewise wash anything used if I am given access to laundry and I will take out any trash.

Dog-boarding:

After boarding dogs a couple times in our apartment, we will NOT be offering boarding in the future. I ask that owners that are looking for boarders, please treat the people you are entrusting the care of your dog to with respect and punctuality. These boarders are giving you far better service than a kennel at the expense of their own home. It is your job to respect the dates you have booked and be completely honest about your dogs' behaviour.

Experience:

I've looked after friends' and neighbours' animals before and I've always received positive feedback. I make sure the animals I'm responsible for get love, attention, and play time. It's always great getting to spend time with animal friends and making sure they are well cared for so their owners can rest easy.

I've booked sitters previously on pawshake and have always had a wonderful experience and I thought joining the service would be a great opportunity to explore Toronto and meet new friends and furry babies.

Education:

I studied Fashion Communication at Toronto Metropolitan University (FKA Ryerson) and have a B.A. in Design. I'm now studying Jewellery Design at George Brown.

To me, the perfect job involves spending even more time with animals. It's been a great opportunity to meet new people and their furry babies.

**Note for owners: If you are on your trip and have booked me for your pet but plan to extend your trip past the time booked, please understand that I have made other commitments to clients around days booked. I may not be able to extend a booking while it is already in progress but I will do my best to make it work, but please do not depend on it. I understand emergencies happen, but please try to honour the dates booked to the best of your ability.**

** I will only take local clients that live within the city of Toronto/downtown Toronto as I do not own a car. **

COVID-19 procedures: I am fully vaccinated (4 doses) and will wear a mask on request for the duration of the meet and greet. I'm happy to send over my vaccination record if requested.
