I'm Shelby and I'm a long time dog owner and pet sitter. I love all fur babies as much as my own, so my goal is to make your fur ball feel as happy and safe as possible when you're at work or travelling. I currently have a beagle / rat terrior mix, Millie, who is a little shy around strangers, but quickly warms up to new friends.

Some things about me:

• 20 years of dog ownership experience. Dog breeds I've owned include Mastiff, Retriever, Lab, German Shepard, Poodle, and Rottweiler.
• 5 years of pet sitting experience including cats and dogs.
• Comfortable with all dog breeds including large and/or high-energy pups.
• I will keep your dog's training consistent when they are in my care. I've had dogs with difficult behaviours in the past, so I know how important consistency is for them! 
• Able to pet sit, house sit, home visit, and board. 
• Please check my schedule for my availability for day care and boarding availability.
• I am available early mornings, mid-day, and evenings for check-ins.
• New to Pawshake, but not to petcare. References are available upon request. 

Pet Sitting:

• Sitter is able to stay with your pets all day during the week. 
• House - bring in mail, take out garbage, and water plants. 
• Cats - clean litter tray and spend time with the cat(s).
• Dogs - At least 1 hour of physical exercise (can be broken down as indoor/outdoor play, multiple walks, or one long walk as per agreement with owners); pick up all dog poop in the backyard during the stay.
• Dog and cats have space to move around and explore. Not to be tied up or kept in a crate for long periods of time.
• Small pets - Tidy cages and do a full clean if the booking is more than 4 days.
• Service includes short reinforcement training sessions (practicing training they already know) if needed.  
• Sitter can provide 1 x photo update per day.
• Bedding and walking equipment should be provided by owner.
• Basic supplies should be provided and available for pet sitter by owner, eg toilet paper and cleaning products.
• If the owner has a security camera inside or outside the house, they need to disclose this to the sitter.
• Sitter will Keep in contact with owners regarding any changes with their pet and if required bringing the pets to the vet when agreed to by the owner or in an emergency. 
• Duration - 24 hours - arrival and departure times fall within the 24-hour time frame. For example, if arrival is 9 am, departure should be at 9 am on the last day. Additional time can be booked.
• Sitter able to stay up to one week at a time depending on calander availibility. Please contact sitter directly if you require services longer than one week. May be able to work with your needs, if schedule availibility permits. 

House Sitting:

• Sitter will keep the home looking tidy, but lived in so it doesnt look empty. Will ensure doors and windows locked, and familiarize myself with home security system.
• Housekeeping - collect mail, water plants, put out the bins on garbage day.
• House/apartment locked up and secure anytime sitter leaves the home and after the booking.
• Empty out rubbish, dirty dishes washed and put away, appliances in working order, bathroom and floors clean - to the same condition it was when sitter arrived.
• Sitter will be the only person at the house at all times unless otherwise agreed with the owner.
• Any keys will be returned at the end of the booking as instructed by the owner.
• Sitter can provide 1 x photo update per day.
• Clean and tidy house with clean/fresh bedding for sitter provided by owner.
• Owners home should be safe and secure house for the sitter.
• Duration - 24 hours - arrival and departure times fall within the 24-hour time frame. For example, if arrival is 9 am, departure should be at 9 am on the last day. Additional time can be booked. 
• Sitter able to stay up to one week at a time depending on calander availibility. Please contact sitter directly if you require services longer than one week. May be able to work with your needs, if schedule availibility permits. 

Home Visits for Pets:

• Morning and evening checkins will last for 30-60 minutes as needed. Afternoon check ins will be 30 minutes during the week and 30-60 minutes as needed on Saturday and Sundays. There is no difference in price. 
• House/apartment will be locked up and secured after the booking.
• Any keys will be returned at the end of the booking as instructed by the owner.
• Mail will be collected and garbage taken out (if required).
• Sitter can provide 1 x photo update per visit.
• Cats - clean litter tray and spend time with the cat.
• Dogs - spend time engaging and playing with the dog. Dogs will be brought out to the toilet.
• Puppies/senior dogs - clean up any mess made by the dog.
• Small pets - Tidy cages and do a full clean if the booking is more than 4 days.
• For dogs, the owner or friend/family will be returning home to the pets each day. This service is not a stand-alone solution for when an owner is away.
• Pets have access to shade and a cool place when hot and a warm place when cold.
• Easy and safe access to the house/apartment for sitter.
• Food and cleaning supplies in a convenient location (if applicable).
• If the owner has a security camera inside or outside the house, they need to disclose this to the sitter.
• Sitter will keep in contact with owners regarding any changes with their pet and if required bringing the pets to the vet when agreed to by the owner or in an emergency .

Boarding:

• Dogs only.
• Dog(s) has/haves space to move around and explore. Not to be tied up or kept in a crate for long periods of time. Dog(s) will have access to full house (duplex), private and fully fenced backyard, with lots of enriching areas to walk on leash, and off leash dog walks at Conroy Pit (if comfortable). Only crated as requested by owner for training (for short periods of time).
• Dog(s) will not be left alone for longer than 3 hours.
• Secure space for dog(s) so they can't escape.
• Dog(s) have access to shade and a cool place when hot and a warm place when cold.
• The environment is safe. Every measure has been taken to prevent dogs from getting hurt or ingesting something they should not.
• At least 1 hour of physical exercise (can be broken down as indoor/outdoor play, multiple walks or one long walk as per agreement with owners).
• Duration - 24 hours - Pick up and drop off times fall within the 24-hour time frame. For example, if drop off is at 9 am, pick-up should be at 9 am on the last day. Additional time (later pick-up) can be booked separately in the form of doggy daycare.
• Will Keep in contact with owners regarding any changes with their pet and if required bringing the pets to the vet when agreed to by the owner or in an emergency.

Doggy Day Care:

• Duration - 10 hours maximum.
• Dog(s) has/have space to move around and explore. Not to be tied up or kept in a crate for long periods of time. Dog(s) will have access to full house (duplex), private and fully fenced backyard, with lots of enriching areas to walk on leash, and off leash dog walks at Conroy Pit (if comfortable). Only crated as requested by owner for training (for short periods of time). 
• Secure space for dog(s) so they can't escape. 
• Continuous monitoring of dog(s) in the sitter's care.
• Dog(s) has access to shade and a cool place when hot and a warm place when cold.
• Dog(s) will not be left alone for longer than 1 hour.
• The environment is safe. Every measure has been taken to prevent dogs from getting hurt or ingesting something they should not. 
• At least 1 hour of physical exercise is provided(can be broken down as indoor/outdoor play, multiple walks or one long walk as per agreement with owners).

All pet services include:

• Feeding the pet as required.
• Access to fresh water.
• Dog is able to go to the toilet regularly.
• Administration of basic medication (non-injectables).
• Pets are kept in a hygienic condition - any messes of the pet are cleaned up, and any signs of illness or injury are reported to the owner.
• Contact with owners regarding any changes with their pet and if required bringing the pets to the vet when agreed to by the owner or in an emergency.

My Expections:

• Any behavioural issues of pets are disclosed.
• Any special requirements or instructions are written down to prevent any misunderstanding. Click here for a list of subjects to discuss during the Meet & Greet, as well as an intake form for written agreements.
• Medication properly labelled, clear dosage instructions and timings (if applicable).
• Emergency contact details (person not travelling with the owner) are provided.
• If feeding is required, enough pet food is provided.
• Dog is housetrained (if the dog is not housetrained, please inform me prior to the booking).
• Bedding and walking equipment is provided.
