NOTE ABOUT THE PANDEMIC for anyone in need of a pet sitter but worried about the measures I take, I would just like to assure you that I live alone, and take the all necessary sanitary measures and practice social distancing at all times. I will wear my mask for all meet and greets, drop-offs and pick-ups. I ask that you do the same :)
I am English/French, 28 yo and cherish any time spent with animals. I live in a two bedroom in Plateau Est, 50m to Parc Lorimier, 10 mins to Parc Laurier, 10 mins to Parc Père Marquette, 15 mins to Parc Lafontaine. I love spending time outside with dogs, going for long walks and letting them off their leads in dog parks (if that's something you yourself do) I think it's great to let dogs interact and play with each other in a safe and open air environment, when safe and possible. I also go for weekly walks to Parc Maisonneuve and always happily take the dogs I am caring for if they enjoy long walks. I am a very caring and calm person in life, so dogs respond very well to me.
At the moment, I have one regular dog, two weeks every month (generally from the 5th to the 20th of each month) a 12yo male Border Colis who isn't castrated. He is very sweet and calm. He absolutely loves other animals, dogs and cats included! However, he can't share space with large male dogs, castrated or not. I have looked after him with small male dogs for long periods and it's gone very well. We can always get them to meet beforehand to make sure its a good fit.
I have been looking after dogs, playing with them, caring for them, walking them, and loving them since I was 5. I grew up on a farm with 6 dogs, two of which were mine - a cocker-spaniel that I trained and a sheepdog I cared for. My last 4 years in England, I looked after a clever whippet and a naughty Dalmatian from when they were puppies. We would go for long walks, and because we had such a trusting relationship, I would let them off their leads and play catch in big open parks in London. Both were male dogs and both had specific dogs they interacted aggressively with, so I was always aware of other dogs surrounding us and never let them off their leads if it wasn't appropriate. I have experience in basic dog training (simple commands such as sit, come, stay), aswell as administoring injections and feeding medication. I believe in positive reinforcement. I go for long walks and adapt to their needs, let them sniff around as much as they like : the walks are for them after all, not for me! running/cycling with them if thats something they enjoy, or just letting them play with other dogs. I also have experience with dogs suffering from separation anxiety, older dogs needing medication, eyes drops, or on specific diets. Over the past two years and half, I've had many regular clients for walks, doggy day care or dog boarding, of all ages and with many different needs and conditions : pitbulls (I love pitbulls!), great danes, weirmaraner (braque), bulldogs, corgis, shih tzus, labradors, border colis, barbets, shiba, rottweilers. I do doggy day care (on the days I don't work), drop-ins, and dog boarding for periods of any length. I'm also happy to have your cat for any period of time, I grew up with two cats so they are no strangers to me! Please feel free to message me if you need to know anything else about me! I'll look forward to meeting you and your pet!
Merci beaucoup !
Highly recommended.
