About me: I am a 27-year-old, who recently graduated with a degree in education to become a junior high or high school teacher! In my spare time, I like to go on hikes, play soccer, volunteer, and ski. I have a 9-year-old lab-border collie cross named Storm who is the love of my life and we go on a lot of walks and runs together. Her breed requires a lot of exercise so I understand the need for dogs to get out for a walk or run daily! I worked at Pet Planet which has educated me on pet nutrition and products so if there are any questions on products I would be happy to provide some product recommendations!
Why I want to be a pet sitter and dog walker: I have a passion for animals and their welfare. I am an advocate for their wellbeing and have done a fair bit of volunteering in a Veterinarian’s office shadowing vets and taking part in the daily tasks that happen there. I have also volunteered at the Calgary Humane society walking dogs. Both of these volunteer experiences contribute to why I would love the opportunity to take care of your pets by taking them for walks or house sitting in your home.
I am a responsible, reliable, punctual, loving, caring person who strives to ensure pets are well looked after. I know how much my dog means to me which is why I will put in the time to spend with your pets. My passion for animals is my motivation to do this work.
I offer dog walks and house sitting in your home. In my previous house-sitting experiences, I have found dogs are much more comfortable in their own home than mine which is why I only offer the house sitting in your home. It is important to me that your pet is well taken care of and is as comfortable as possible.

Tanis was absolutely amazing with our fur babies. She is wonderful with animals and my dogs and crabby 18 year old cat took to her after just meeting her once. She was so conciencious and maintained their feeding etc schedule. They were walked, fed and well loved. Our house was spotless when we got home and while we were away we received daily updates and photos. We now consider Tanis part of our family and will have her here again to house/pet sit.
Tanis is a GEM! I was a bit sceptical when I started this journey of hiring a sitter, but I am very glad I did or would never have found her! She came for a meet and greet and asked all the right questions which proved to me she was interested and genuinely interested in the care of my dogs. She will be my go to Sitter for all my outings from here on in! Tanis is respectful of my property and my dogs, very pleasant, timely, and sent daily reports and pictures to ease my anxiety over leaving them for the first time! You cannot go wrong by hiring this young lady!
