Hello! My name is Katie, I am 28 years old and I am in my last year of the Registered Practical Nursing program at Conestoga College. I have a passion for providing care to all of Earths creatures; animals have and always will be a big part of my life. While I do have my own tiny zoo to take care of, I am really looking to add a few new faces to my daily/weekly routine! I have experience with most varities of pets. Over my life I have personally owned dogs, cats, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and a tarantula named Valentine! I have done plenty of cat-sitting, home-sitting and dog walking over the years for friends and friends of friends. I have experience applying topical creams and administering oral medications to dogs, cats and snakes. I have intermittently homed cats for people during family moves or home renovations. I have experience in fostering injured wildlife, including some very recent experience with a kit of raccoon babies! I thrive on developing strong relationships with animals built on trust, and I find coupled with my nursing background, I am able to assess when an animal is displaying a change in health or behaviour. I would be happy doing homevisits for any kind of "stay-at-home" creature, going for a slow jaunt with any senior dogs or would also be thrilled if I could find a dog or two that would be up for some higher intensity walks as I enjoy exploring new trails, visiting creeks, etc. My two dog babies that I have, while they are both in good shape for their age, they just don't have the endurance anymore to run longer distances so it would be fun if I could find new companion(s) for that!
