Hello there!

My name is Bernice. I have love for animals ever since I can remember. My first career choice was to be a veterinarian, but I quickly realized that our pets mostly hate their vets and I didn't want to be the thing our pets hate the most. I also volunteered at Etobicoke Humane Society as a cat volunteer for a year where I met my late cat, Billie. Billie and my failed career goals both inspired me to become a pet sitter. I have always envisioned myself working with pets because when you're around animals, are you really even working at all? I started sitting for friends and family and now I have finally decided to expand to Pawshake! I currently have two senior cats in my care, Chloe and Markus! I have experience working with cats with different temperaments, behaviours, and needs. Such as, I am able to give oral medications either by hiding it in a treat or giving them by mouth. I also know how to administer insulin. FUN FACT: I sit a cat who would only eat his wet food in his room beside his automatic feeder. I sure have 5 star reviews from this cat (he finally let me give him some pets after months of not letting me pet him and a win is a win).

Home Visits:

For cats, it would consist of feeding, cleaning and checking the litter box, and playing with the babies after if they want, if not I'll just leave them be. If you request for 2 home visits, the litter box would be checked and cleaned in the morning and checked again at night and of course feeding and playing (if they want to). Cleaning the litter box includes sweeping or vacuuming outside the litter box. *FOOD AND WATER BOWL ARE WASHED BEFORE OR AFTER FEEDING TIMES*

For dogs, visits would have to be longer (1 hour for 1x visit) or 2x shorter visits (maybe 45 mins each). 1x visit will include a 45 min walk in your neighbourhood plus 15 feeding time or for 2x visit with 30 minutes walking and 10-15 mins of feeding. *FOOD AND WATER BOWLS ARE WASHED BEFORE OR AFTER FEEDING* I don't allow off leash walks. I apologize for this inconvenience.

*Visits also include watering of plants (if any) and bringing in mail and packages.

For house sitting, I have a full time, hybrid job outside of pet sitting. I'm usually only out for 2-3 hours of the day to complete some of my job's day-to-day activities. I do ask that if house sitting is requested, if I could connect to the internet to work in your home while being with your babies.

Daily updates includes photos, videos or I will send a message on how each visit goes. My passion and love for animals makes me care for your babies as if they were my own.
