Hi! There my name is Rui , and I am 49 years old and I am work as a cashier in a grocery store; My work schedule is flexible. I am interviewing for a cat-sitter position in Montreal southwest areas, including Westmount, griffin town, Pointe-Sainte-Charles, Saint-Henri and city of Montreal. Looking after a cat is a serious business, and that is how I take it-seriously. Tending to their needs, including brushing , playing and feeding is something that I am good at. Ensuring that all cats entrusted to me are provided with tender loving care throughout the time that I am looking after them is my priority. Comprehension of guaranteeing that cats remain safe while their owners are away, and provided with physical exercises (in accordance to the owners’ specific instructions) makes it easy for cat owners to entrust their pets to me.
My partner and me had a cat for 7 years, and Simba passed away a few years ago. Simba brought lots of joys to us, and we love him so much. One year ago, my partner joined Pawshake to be pet sitter, by seeing so many lovely cats and dogs board in our home, we felt such a privilege to taking care of them, and they are like our family.
My home is about 800 square feet and located in the little burgundy of southwest of Montreal . I am a very reponsible person, when I take care of cats, I treat them as my children, their safety and happiness are my priority. Also, I would like to create stress free envirment, pets are like kids, I will spend lots of time to love, curdle and play with them, and they would not realized that they are in a strangers home.
My partner have been working from home and we have been together for 10 years. He was grew up with dogs and cats , and he has been with Pawshake for a year; my partner and I have been vegan for 5 years, we both love all kinds of animals.
Currently, the service that I can offer is cat visit and cat boarding.
Now I am going to describe my work procedures to do my cat visits:
1. Meeting. I would like to meet the cats' owner and the cats that I will visit. During the meeting, I will do :
a. Prepare the meeting, I will check up my schedule, and prepare a schedule for the specific time frame that the client request . Usually, I will always come approximately the same time for each visit for the same client, unless the client has some special requests, I will make a change accordingly.
b. During the meeting, I will be very carefully listen to the client's needs; base on their needs, I ask questions, for example: the character of the cats; their behavior; they like or dislike; what things I have to pay attention to? If any medical issues? Any hairball problem? Any medicine has to be taken? What is quality of the dry or wet food? How the automatic food feeder work; what is their favorite toys ? I will suggest cats owners always have cage ready in case of emergency happen.
c. I will check up All the cats stuff places: litter, water/ water fountain, often hidden places, the places to store food, treats and cat litter
d. Then I will explain to the cats owner my way to do cat visits: first, I will tell them the specific times frame that I will do my visits, every visit I will stay around 30-40 minutes, usually I will come approximate same time for the same client;
second, I will explain what is look like when I do my visits: I will do routine work first, clenched the litter box and the surrounding areas, refilled water fountain or change water bowl, refilled the automatic feeder or the food instructions from the cats' owners; after that I spend 80% of my stay time to play, cuddle, brushed and petted the cats, give them loves, make them feel safe and happiness. During this time I will take lots of pictures.
Third, I will tell the clients how I use Pawshake to create reports and show them some samples, let them have idea how they get information from Pawshake while they are away.
Fourth, I will discuss with clients when I can get the keys and return their keys if they would like to book me.
2. After the meeting, I will create a file for each of client and write down all the important points from the meeting ( even the clients will provide the notes) , next time if customer rebook me then I can check up my file and save clients time
3. The dates that I go visit. I will follow the clients's instructions and put cats safety and happiness first, as I promise to the clients, I will send most of the visit time to play, cuddle, brush, and pet them. Overall, give them a lot of love. I will take lots of pictures and some videos.
4. After my visits, usually I will prepare the Pawshake each visit report card in half an hour, but sometimes I have a couple of visits line up, I will prepare reports card in 1-2 hours after my visits. Except the regular visits report card from Pawshake, each visit I will message you what happen at the time that I do my visits, if your cats have hairball throw up, if they look quite, sad, happy or fine, I will send you a lot of pictures. We can communication through Pawshake easily.
5.I can give cats medication if they need.
My schedule is flexible, i am available do morning, evening and night visits. I am not plan to travel until the end of next year.
After visit so many cats, I am aware that cats are like children, they are afraid to be alone, they need to be loved, they need human to direct them to form heathy habit, for example: make them to play more, use muscles to prevent being fat; drink more water to help them to decrease the likelihood of urinary stones problem.
I love all cats. When I am with cats, I don't treat it as my job, I feel fun to be with them.
