Hello "Pawshaker"!

 My name is Suzie and I'm a mature, wise, and easy-going 57-year-old.

I've been working as a professional Registered Sign Language Interpreter for over 30 years.

Our dog passed away at 14 1/2 years old in April 2014. 

I understand folks who have a preference for crate training and respect it. I understand and respect food restrictions. 

Our guy had some food restrictions so I know the work involved in keeping your buddy on a restricted diet. 

At this time, I don't offer services in my home but gladly will come to your home for once/twice daily visits and/or overnight stays that include house sitting, taking care of the mail, and making sure your home looks lived in while taking passionate care of your pets.

I understand and respect that not every dog is good with other dogs (mine was hit-and-miss at the best of times). 

I believe in making sure there is plenty of fresh water throughout the house - one bowl is never enough. 

I do work full-time Monday to Friday so your pet does need to be able to stay alone unsupervised. This is especially important to understand if you are booking housesitting. While the description under the Pawhsake house sitting says "24 hours", I am not available to stay in your home with your pets 24 hours for extended days at a time without ever leaving. $50/day, unfortunately, does not cover the necessities of my life situation. I do not work from home so would have to leave your home to go to my job. Before you book me for house sitting, please make sure you completely understand that house sitting means I will stay overnight. I will be there as much as I am able to, but I do need to attend to my regular employment. 

Other than work, though, if I have your buddy with me, I'll stay home and be there for him/her. Please contact me via Pawshake and we can discuss what your needs are. 

Sometimes my work times are flexible if you have needs during the day and I am available most weekends all day. 

My motivation as a pet sitter is that I know, from personal experience, how hard it can be to leave a member of your family when you go away. You want the assurance that your family is being well cared for and loved. I can do that for you! Please do reach out if you have any specific questions you're looking to have answered. With Pawshake, I have the pleasure of having a number of repeat clients. I've housesat for a range of families from one dog to one dog/one cat teams, to four cat clans, to four cats and a dog families, to a couple of rabbits! When I do my once/twice daily visits only, I will do a walk around the house to make sure everything looks good, bring in the mail, do the litter boxes every day, and respect your wishes to the closest degree that I'm able to. When staying at the house, for dogs, I typically do two walks a day - morning and after work - 45 minutes or so each walk, Of course, let me know what works for you - customization is always willingly accommodated!

Please choose the appropriate service carefully. I have found that walking dogs takes considerably more time than home visits only with say cats or dogs that only need to be let out in a fenced yard. This has necessitated adding dog walks (as opposed to visits) as a separate category. Thanks for your understanding. 

Please note, I may need to add additional fees if you live outside of Abbotsford. I find my time on the road that goes uncompensated for those who live further away has become challenging. I don't mind watering a few plants but if you have a jungle, extra fees may apply. My services are typically for one pet, but I will often do two dogs or a dog and a cat for the same fee as one pet. However, I may have to negotiate if there are more than two pets depending on what the pets are. 

A word about cancellations.

Please read my cancellation policy. The reason I need a cancellation policy is that when someone cancels relatively last minute, I may have to say no to another client. This puts the other person out to whom I had to say no.

I can never know if they were able to get coverage and then it ends up that I could have been available. As a direct copy and paste from the cancellation policy: Flexible: Full refund if you cancel by 12 noon one day before the service was to begin. 50% refund if canceled after 12 noon the day before the stay was to begin.
