** We live in a cozy apartment just a quick 10 min. drive from YVR Airport, making drop-offs and pick-ups incredibly convenient for travelling pet parents! ** PET WEIGHT/SIZE PREFERENCE 📢 A little note for pet parents : I typically care for dogs up to 10kg, as my experience and home are best suited for smaller dogs. Pawshake currently doesn’t offer an option for dogs up to 10kg, so I’ve selected the 8-18kg range as the closest available option. Please note that my actual maximum weight is 10kg. PET CARE EXPERIENCE Hey I’m Catherine! I started caring for dogs for family and friends in 2022, and over the years I realized how much I truly enjoy it. That eventually led me to get my own dog, Summer, in 2024. She’s currently 2 years old and is a Bichon-Shih Tzu mix who is very friendly and loves meeting new dogs. Having a dog of my own has taught me so much about their care, behaviour, and different personalities. I’m excited to continue learning, get to know more dogs and their unique personalities, and give every dog in my care the same love, attention, and care I give to Summer. I want to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. SCHEDULE FOR DOG BOARDING & DOGGY DAY CARE : I work from home, which allows me to keep a close eye on your dog throughout the day and give them lots of attention, companionship, and care. I'm experienced with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and following each dog's usual schedule to help them feel relaxed and at home. I’ll keep you updated with photos so you can see how your dog is doing! :) BOARDING : 24 hrs. (hosting only 1 dog per night) DAYCARE : hosting a max of 2 dogs per day (same household only), choose any time between 7am-8pm for a stay of up to 8hrs. (stays longer than 8hrs. will be charged at the boarding rate) FOR DOG WALKING : My regular walking hours are between 10am-6pm, and I only accept one dog per walk! Your dog is welcome to join my dog on our walks! We’ll explore nearby neighbourhood parks and walking areas together, enjoying the fresh air and new surroundings. For safety reasons, we don’t visit dog parks. If you’re looking for someone to walk your dog daily, feel free to reach out! :) HOW I PROVIDE UPDATES FOR BOARDING : I’ll usually send multiple photos twice a day, around noon and in the early evening, so you can see how your dog is doing without feeling like you need to check in or reply each time. I’ll only send a text update if there’s something unusual with your dog’s routine or an emergency. If you’d like more frequent updates, just let me know! :) FOR DAYCARE : I’ll usually send multiple photos throughout your dog’s daycare stay, generally every 2–3 hours depending on the length of their stay, so you can see how your dog is doing without feeling like you need to check in or reply each time. For first-time clients, I’ll also provide a report card after the stay with a little more detail about how your dog did and how they settled into our home. I’ll only send a text update if there’s something unusual or an emergency. If you’d like more frequent updates, just let me know! :) FOR DOG WALKING : I'll send a report card after each walk with a photo and a map screenshot from my walking app. That way, you can see exactly where we explored along with the total time and distance. I can also send some extra photos that I quickly take during the walk once I’m back home. I don’t use my phone to send updates while we’re walking so I can stay focused on your dog and their safety. I’ll only use my phone during the walk if there’s an emergency. SAFETY, TRUST & ENVIRONMENT FOR DOG BOARDING & DOGGY DAY CARE : Our building is secure and quiet, perfect for dogs who prefer a calm environment without the stress of a busy household. Our apartment is equipped with AC and heating to keep your dog comfortable year-round, as well as a security camera for added safety and peace of mind during their stay. FOR DOG WALKING : Your dog’s safety is always my priority. I’ll keep a close eye on every dog throughout the walk and choose safe, dog-friendly walking areas. I’ll also make sure the dogs are comfortable with each other and supervised at all times, especially when they’re playing together. A TYPICAL DAY ROUTINE FOR DOG BOARDING & DOGGY DAY CARE I love keeping dogs active, engaged, and happy! At home, I have a few interactive brain toys and enrichment puzzles that help provide mental stimulation, and your dog is welcome to enjoy them alongside my dog. Since we don’t have a yard, we go on three walks a day! Our morning and afternoon walks each last at least 25mins or so, plus a shorter 10min walk before bedtime. I like to switch up our routes so the dogs can enjoy new sights, smells, and places to explore. On nice days, we may visit a nearby beach, explore a dog-friendly mini trail, or walk through different neighbourhood parks. Please note that we only visit regular public parks and walking areas, not dog parks due to concerns about unfriendly dogs, potential injuries, and disease exposure. I prioritize the safety of Summer and every dog in my care, so if visiting dog parks is important to your dog’s routine, we may not be the best fit. Between walks, there will be lots of supervised playtime, cuddle breaks, and downtime so your dog stays happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the day. INFORMATION I'D LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PET Before accepting a booking, I’d like to see your dog’s latest vaccination record to help keep your dog and my own dog safe and protected, especially since they’ll be spending time together and going on walks where they may encounter other dogs. I’d also like to know about your dog’s behaviour, personality, and anything else I should be aware of to make sure I can provide the best care possible.
