The primary reason I am pursuing pet sitting is my genuine love for animals. I find great joy in spending time with pets, playing with them, and providing attentive care. One of my most rewarding experiences was caring for a high-energy, one-year-old dog named Sunny for a three-week period while his owners were abroad. Beyond the essential daily care—including tailored feeding, long exploratory walks, and grooming—I focused on positive reinforcement training to address his mild separation anxiety and leash-pulling. By implementing a consistent routine, using clicker training for calm behavior when I departed, and practicing "heel" commands with treats during walks, we made significant progress. Sunny became more relaxed when alone and far more manageable on the leash. This experience taught me that exceptional pet sitting goes beyond reliable care; it's about patiently reinforcing good habits, providing mental stimulation, and ensuring the pet feels both secure and happy in their owner's absence, which I document with regular photo updates.
