Hi! I’m Berdem, and I manage our Rover account, including all messaging, meet & greets, and bookings. My girlfriend and I live together and care for our furry guests as a team, so while you’ll primarily be communicating with me, your cat gets plenty of love and attention from both of us.

My girlfriend and I both grew up with pets and have many years of hands-on experience caring for cats. I personally have more than 12 years of experience caring for them.

We specialize in multi-cat care and regularly host multiple cats at a time in a safe, calm, and supervised environment. Over time, we’ve gained a lot of experience with cat introductions, reading cat behavior, and helping cats adjust comfortably at their own pace. We understand that every cat has a different personality, energy level, and comfort zone, and we always respect that.

Through Rover, we’ve had the pleasure of caring for many wonderful cats, and we’re always excited to meet more adorable cats and kittens! We genuinely enjoy creating a loving, stress-free environment where cats can feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home.

We are available almost every day, and because I work from home full-time, I am home with the cats throughout the day. Your cat will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship.

Because we care for cats as part of our daily routine, we’re able to provide consistent supervision, regular playtime, feeding schedules, and companionship throughout the day. This is especially important in a multi-cat environment, where we carefully monitor interactions and make sure every cat feels safe and comfortable.

Safety, trust & environment

We live in a spacious, pet-friendly 1-bedroom + den apartment in downtown Vancouver designed to make cats feel comfortable and relaxed.

We specialize in caring for multiple cats at the same time and have created an environment that supports both social and independent cats. We carefully supervise introductions, monitor behavior, and make sure each cat has enough personal space, hiding spots, and quiet areas if they need them. If necessary, we are also able to separate cats to ensure everyone remains comfortable and stress-free.

Our home includes:

- Litter-Robot 4
- A large scratching board that cats absolutely love
- Two cat hammocks
- A cat tower
- Multiple cozy sleeping spots
- Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain

Cats are welcome on the bed and sofa, but we keep kitchen counters off-limits for hygiene and safety.

Please do not bring litter or litter box for your stay, as we provide it ourselves. We do have a Litter-Robot 4 but we also keep a traditional litter box available in case your cat prefers it, although most cats adjust very well to the Litter-Robot.

We do our best to create a calm, enriching, and home-like environment where cats can feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

A typical day

We usually brush the cats once a day and have multiple play sessions throughout the day to keep them active and entertained.

Cats are welcome to sleep in the bedroom with us if they enjoy companionship at night. Many cats also love hanging out in Berdem’s office while he works from home.

Some cats get the zoomies during the day (and especially at night!), and once they become comfortable, many enjoy playing and socializing with the other cats as well. We always supervise interactions and make sure every cat is comfortable and happy with the environment.

We try to match each cat’s personality and energy level so they feel relaxed, safe, and at home during their stay.

What Berdem wants to know

We generally accept cats that have some previous experience being around other cats, since we regularly care for multiple cats at the same time. However, if you’re unsure how your cat behaves around other cats, we may still be able to accommodate them.

We ask a few pre-screening questions to better understand your cat’s personality, social behavior, and comfort level. Some positive signs we look for include:

- Younger or curious/social personalities

- Previous positive experiences with other animals

- Friendly behaviour around people or children

- Cats that adapt well to new environments

- Cats that currently live with, or have previously lived with, other cats

We have a lot of experience reading cat body language and managing introductions carefully and gradually. Some cats become social very quickly, while others prefer their own space and take more time to adjust — and that’s completely okay. Our goal is always to create the least stressful experience possible for every cat in our care. If needed, we can always separate cats to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable.
