I have been an animal lover since I can remember! In between working in the film/tv industry, I love to help take care of animals. I have stretches of time, often weeks to months off where I can focus on Pawshake!&nbsp;
I have my own 5 year old cat named Mango  who is a bit of a difficult cat, so I am quite used to some challenging animals. I also adore dogs but due to my main job I don't have one as the time constraints can be a bit complex. Instead I love to cuddle and hang out with various friends/families dogs.&nbsp;
I am happy to come take your pet for a walk, keep them company with toys and treats and have a sleepover. Whether it be a kitten or three dogs, I am there!! As well, I am flexible in terms of location as I have a car so I can get to most places near Toronto!&nbsp;

My name is Amanda (Mandy) Bunten-Walberg, and I would be honoured to help care for your beloved animal companions! ABOUT ME:
I am currently taking a hiatus from my PhD in Multi-Species Ethics, and I am looking for hands-on work that restores my soul!  I adore my two animal companions (my rescued cat and dog, Murphy and Khepri, respectively), and I know how difficult it can be to entrust another person with the care of one's fur-family.  I strongly believe that all animals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and I am passionate about caring for all animals as though they are my own, using only positive reinforncement training methods.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
From 2018 - 2019 (1.5 years), I worked as a professional dog walker and cat sitter in Yorkville for Barks n Purrs.  It is here that I honed my skills and gained an intimate understanding of the unique needs and personalities of each dog and cat who I cared for.  My reputation as a reliable, attentive, and compassionate caregiver grew, as I ensured transparent and open lines of communication with every client, and that every pet was treated with dignity, patience, and care.&nbsp;
My daily routine included dog walks that were tailored to each dog's unique needs and energy levels, providing social interaction, love, exercise, and stimulation.  My cat-sitting duties included feeding, grooming, playing with, and petting the cats who I humbly served!
I have the experience and passion to create nurturing and secure environments where animals can thrive, and to grant my human clients reassurance and peace of mind.  In addition, I hold certification in pet first aid and CPR.


Being a dedicated pet enthusiast for over 6 years, I'm a proud owner of two exquisite Sphynx cats that have brought immeasurable joy and affection into my life. My journey with them has not only deepened my understanding of the intrinsic needs of pets but has also reinforced the love and care they truly deserve. In addition to my own feline companions, I've had the privilege of hosting various dogs, with some even enjoying long-term stays, allowing me to gain diverse experience in canine care.

Every pet I have the pleasure of encountering quickly occupies a special place in my heart, essentially becoming an extended member of my family. This genuine passion for animals naturally weaves into my weekly routines. My part-time weekend job offers the flexibility I need, ensuring that I have substantial time during the weekdays to indulge in delightful dog walks, playful activities, and dedicated bonding time. In my home, the well-being of pets is paramount. My two Sphynx cats are testament to the love and comfort I provide, thriving in an environment filled with a plethora of pet toys, cozy nooks on the couch, specialized pet beds, and an array of pet-friendly plants. Ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall happiness is, and always will be, my utmost priority.


I have had a dog for 11 years and I have always taken very good care of him, I have a very good relationship with pets, not only with my dog but also with the dogs of my friends and family. I really like to care for and protect pets. I am a person who really likes to walk since it is a form of relaxation for me and it is much more enjoyable in the company of your pet. I've been taking care of pets for their owners/parents, and training them since I was a child, but am new to this website.&nbsp;
I often travel, and am now a digital nomad, so I can't responsibly have pets of my own. I'm making up for it by being of service to you and your pets.&nbsp;
I have a world class (human) mental health and communication background, and have taught at a university level. I understand animal communication, and have a knack for building trust and bonding with animals.&nbsp;
Recently, a vicious pitbull - kidnapped as a puppy and forced to fight in underground arenas, who hates men especially, and can't leave the house without trying to murder anything that moves - stepped gingerly up onto my lap and kissed my face. This is a day in the life for me.
When I'm in the city I have been helping my fellow traveling friends to house sit, and have been walking and doing basic training with puppies since elementary school with treats, eye contact, and modified clicker(-free) training and behavioural conditioning.
I do not use punishment as a discipline tactic.&nbsp;
I can brush and clip nails, manage special diets, and deliver medicine if necessary. If they are on a schedule, please have it in writing, and sent by email. I will take photos to show completion of time-sensitive activities/routines, and stay in touch about any changes or challenges.&nbsp;
If my availability shows as open, it means I'm in town, and I can stay for just about any length of time. You may have to check in with me for bookings over a month.&nbsp;
Your home is sacred and I will treat it as such:
Beyond personal hygiene and cleanliness, you can expect basic upkeep and homemaking (my mother taught me well), and if your pet takes homemade meals I am, in fact, a chef fantastique.
If you have a garden - either outdoor or indoor you can count on my green thumb and passion for plants to keep your blooming bébés alive and thriving.&nbsp;
You want to feel secure when leaving your pet in the care of someone, and I can offer you that security and peace of mind if my availability is open.&nbsp;
Also, if they don't bring in the newspaper, I will!
I will regularly update you on the status of your home and pet. If you receive mail or visitors you can count at least a daily update. Or, if you prefer to be left alone or more frequently updated, that can be arranged too.&nbsp;
I'm a digital nomad so my schedule is flexible.&nbsp;
I am fit, and can take your pooch for runs, I can and do play, occasionally for hours, and definitely multiple times a day. I don't have a driver's license, so you may want to keep that in mind if you have appointments more than a 1hr walk away, or if your appointment isn't TTC accessible.&nbsp;
WiFi is non negotiable, and the password must be photographed and sent to me before you leave for your trip because I work from home, and any details regarding your internet service provider should be available, in case the internet goes down for more than a couple days, or at least accessible to you so you can send me the details. I can also supervise home care/construction, and/or let workers in and out, document their work and attendance, but I need to know if there will be noise to prepare my workday.&nbsp;
Any expenses such as food, medicine, grooming, or appointments must be paid for/ purchased in advance, or funds must be available for me to purchase. Receipts will be collected, and any additional fees paid out of pocket will be documented and must be reimbursed. We love good karma! All bookings are done through the site, and I don't take tips.&nbsp;
I always keep at least a few days' buffer after our booking in case your flight or gets cancelled or your travel plans change for whatever reason and you need me to stay longer. Standard rates apply, but I will be amenable to sudden changes in plans unless otherwise noted. I prefer to have a local emergency contact in case I can't get a hold of you, as well as the contact of your vet, and any home or pet service providers you anticipate might be involved in you or your pet's life while you are gone - all in writing and sent by email.&nbsp;

Hi! I'm Andrew. I grew up in Toronto and it's where I first fell in love with pets and walking. My first experiences involved walking our family dog, Maggie, around Leaside and down towards the Brickworks via the Don Valley Ravine. Since then, I've spent as much time as possible outside.
I adopted my first two cats (Twinston &amp; Lotus) in 2018 and recently adopted a third rescue, Tuna. My girlfriend has a dog, Roxy, and for the first time in my life I get to spend my days with both cats and dogs. I'm very grateful to them for the time we get to spend outdoors walking and also cuddling on the couch. They remind me to be patient, happy, and to live in the moment. 
I love walks of all distances in all seasons (sun, rain, snow, wind-- I'm ready!) and feel this is a great way where I can blend my love of animals and walking outside. When not walking, I'm ready to play fetch, work with your pet on tricks and cuddle. 
I'm available to walk, feed, and cuddle your pets! Flexible with home visit length and can water plants bring in mail and more. I have full weekday availability and occasional weekend availability. Dog walk lengths are also flexible.

As an avid dog lover, I grew up with a border collie (Bingo) and a golden retriever (Sunny), taking them on daily walks, taking care of them, and most enjoyably, playing frisbee with them. During the first year of COVID, I fostered a rescue dog Samantha and cared for her post spay surgery, provided daily exercise (and she needed a lot!), and trained her for 4 months until she found her furever home. Since then, I have dog-sat for and walked many pups of friends and acquaintances (see photos of my many furry friends!).
My experience means I know the importance of a good dog lifestyle and how vital it is that dogs get the exercise, attention, and affection they need to be happy. I’m looking to fill my downtime with some dog love as I’m a big fan of all types of dogs and have lots of love and energy to provide. I live downtown in Toronto on the east end and am flexible in where I can meet. I'm currently awaiting a new full time job start in September, and have a ton of open availability during the weekdays. I'm typically a morning person and would be able to care for pets between 9am and 4pm with some flexibility.

Hi there! My name's Santiago and I'm currently working in downtown Toronto. I live with one roommate and sadly my dog lives with my parents back home, so I figured I will give Pawshake a try :)
I enjoy meeting people and their pets, and this seems like a great way to hang out with animals while helping me to find some additional work outside of my job. About myself, I graduated from university here a few years ago after moving from Colombia. My close friend, Pepe the cocker spaniel, is back there with my family. Being highly active myself, I love going for long walks and checking out new places in the city. I'm sure your dog will enjoy exploring the outdoors with me and being my exercise buddy. 
I'm also open to hosting animals in my apartment. I have quite a bit of space and a lot of natural lighting. Overnight visits are fine, as I work from home most days and can wake up early for walks. There are no other pets living in the apartment, so your pet's safety is promised. I prefer to sit only pets that are potty-trained (so if your cat can use a litter box or if your dog isn't prone to accidents, then great!) pets that are vaccinated are also preferable and if they get along with other animals (this is so that walks are safe). 
I also offer drop in visits and will make sure to timely respond to inquiries about your loved ones :) if you need any other services while you are away, for example, watering plants or doing some light clean up, I'm perfectly fine with this too. 
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with a big living room and a balcony, with most of room for a dog to walk around. Don River Valley Park is a walk away from my house, a perfect spot to run and even meet some furry friends for any dog. I'm in Toronto year round so if we are a good fit, I'd be happy to pet sit again for you in the future! 

I have grown up with dogs my entire life, and I started taking more of a direct role in taking care of the family dogs over the years when I was 10 years old. I have experience taking care of small, medium, and large-sized dogs from potty-trained puppies to senior cuties. I am able to supervise pets 24/7.&nbsp;I live by myself in a one-bedroom apartment in a pet-friendly apartment complex with a concrete patio space. There are multiple parks in short walking distance and green space by the apartment building for pets to use. Guest pets are allowed to sleep anywhere they may like in my care as I believe a comfy pet is a happy&nbsp;pet.During drop-in visits am able to stay with pets for about an hour or so as well as watering plants and bringing in mail. For house sitting I am able to stay in the owner's home during the entire time (with the exception of running errands to a grocery store for instance). I keep the doors locked at all times when I am in or out of the home to keep myself and the pets in my care safe.
